4 Things You Have In Your Cupboard Right Now That Can Us As Bed Bug Spray

Bed bug spray can be expensive and we don’t typically recommend anything over the counter because it rarely works. If you’ve been getting bitten by bed bugs there are four things around the house you can use to kill them on contact.  Some you can spray your linens with and others you can treat around the sleeping areas.   You can see from our previous post that some of these household items are just as good as some store-bought products that claim all-natural or organic spray.  Of course, we don’t recommend these as a substitute for treating bed bugs professionally but here are some products around the house that you can use to get rid of bed bugs fast.

4 Items for Bed Bug Spray That Are Completely All Natural

  1. RUBBING ALCOHOL  – Alcohol can kill bed bugs by dissipating the cells of insects and can wipe out bed bugs.  Rubbing alcohol is highly effective in killing them and can be sprayed on bedding and other items.  Of course this will only kill on contact.

  2. BAKING SODA – Baking soda can be spread around the infested areas and has traits that will kill bed bugs.  Baking soda kills bed bugs by dehydrating them.  Baking soda also has an anti-microbial nature and can be used sparingly due to its safe nature.  Once you spread it be sure to re-apply after a week or a few days.  Also vacuuming it up is a good way to ensure your picking all the debris.

  3. CAYENNE PEPPER– The cayenne pepper and the ginger combine to eliminate bedbugs on contact.  Use this as a spray to target the areas in questions and surrounding areas.  Clean up and reapply where needed.  Like when adding spice to your food this stuff has the property to kill bed bugs on contact.

  4. TEA TREE OIL & CLOVE OIL – Of course, tea tree oil sounds like something that is recommended for so many things but for a good reason.  Tea tree oil is derived from nature and the essential oil is anti-microbial.  When mixed with water is can be used to kill bed bugs on contact and eliminate other microbes on linens or other items.   The same comes from clove oil.  The odor and acidic nature of clove oil will keep bed bugs away.

These products are great to eliminate bed bug adult populations and mitigate bed bug infestations around sleeping areas for a quick control.  These items can help through a few restless nights.  Of course, these products won’t eliminate reproductive cycles that bed bugs are creating around the house.  Our staff can help you if you think you have some bed bugs and need to get rid of them fast.
